Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

Attuned by Bénédicte Lauzière respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information I collect through benedictelauziere.com and my services, why I collect it, who I share it with, and the choices and rights you have. I handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

1. Who is responsible for your information

Bénédicte Lauzière, Attuned by Bénédicte Lauzière
Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
hello@benedictelauziere.com

I am personally responsible for the information you share with me, and you can contact me directly with any privacy question.

2. What I collect

Personal information means any information about an identifiable person. I collect only what I need to offer my services:

  • Contact and newsletter sign-ups: your name and email address when you join my newsletter, request a free practice or write to me.

  • Bookings: your name, email, phone number if you provide it, and appointment details when you book a session.

  • Health questionnaire: before a session, I ask about health conditions so I can keep the practice safe for you. This information is treated as confidential and used only for that purpose.

  • Purchases: your name, email, billing details and order history. Card payments are processed by Stripe. I never see or store your full card number.

  • Sessions: sessions take place on Zoom. If a group session is recorded, you will be told before you join, along with how the recording will be used.

  • Site usage: basic information collected automatically, such as pages visited, browser type and approximate location, through cookies (see section 9).

3. How I use it

  • to run my sessions, programs and subscriptions, and to deliver what you buy;

  • to keep breathwork safe for you;

  • to answer your questions and support you;

  • to send you my newsletter and news about my offerings, if you have agreed to receive them;

  • to process payments and keep the business records the law requires;

  • to understand how the site is used and improve it;

  • to show my ads on Google and Facebook/Instagram to people likely to be interested, and to measure how those ads perform (see section 9);

  • to prevent fraud and protect the security of the site.

I do not sell or rent your personal information. Your health questionnaire answers are never used for advertising or shared with advertising platforms.

4. Consent

By giving me your information, you consent to its use as described here. You may withdraw your consent at any time by emailing me, although that may mean I can no longer provide a particular service.

5. Who I share it with

I share personal information only with the service providers that help me run my practice, and only as much as they need:

  • Squarespace (website, online store and email newsletter)

  • Acuity Scheduling (bookings, subscriptions and intake forms)

  • Stripe (payment processing)

  • Zoom (online sessions)

  • Google (business email, file storage, website analytics and Google Ads)

  • Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram ads)

These providers are contractually required to protect your information and use it only to provide their services. I may also disclose information when the law requires it, for example in response to a court order.

6. Where your information is stored

Some of these providers store information outside Canada, mainly in the United States. While it is there, it is subject to the laws of that country, and authorities there may be able to access it.

7. How long I keep it

I keep personal information only as long as needed to provide my services, then delete it securely. Some records, such as invoices, are kept longer because tax law requires it.

8. Security

I take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorized access. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so I cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Cookies and advertising

A cookie is a small file saved on your device when you visit a website. Similar tools, such as tracking pixels and tags, work in the same way. This site, which runs on Squarespace, uses:

  • Essential cookies that make the site work, such as keeping items in your cart and keeping checkout secure;

  • Analytics cookies that tell me, in aggregate, how many people visit, which pages they view and how they found the site;

  • Advertising cookies from Google (the Google tag, for Google Ads and Google Analytics) and Meta (the Meta Pixel, for Facebook and Instagram ads). These record visits to the site and actions such as a sign-up or purchase, so that I can measure whether my ads work and show my ads to people who have visited the site before (remarketing).

Google and Meta may combine this information with what they already know about you from your accounts with them, under their own privacy policies. I do not receive your browsing history from them, only aggregated results.

I may also upload my email list to Google or Meta in an encrypted (hashed) form, so that they can show my ads to existing contacts or to people similar to them. To opt out, email me and I will remove you from those lists.

Pages that link to or embed content from other services, such as Acuity Scheduling, YouTube or Instagram, may set those services' own cookies, which are covered by their privacy policies.

Your choices

  • Block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site, such as checkout, from working properly.

  • Manage how Google personalizes ads at myadcenter.google.com.

  • Manage how Meta personalizes ads at facebook.com/adpreferences.

  • Opt out of interest-based ads from participating companies at youradchoices.ca.

Opting out does not mean you will see fewer ads, only that they will be less tailored to you.

10. Emails from me

I send newsletters and promotional emails only to people who have agreed to receive them, as required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask to be removed by emailing me.

11. Your rights

You can ask me to:

  • tell you what personal information I hold about you and give you a copy;

  • correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;

  • delete your information, unless I am required by law to keep it;

  • stop using your information for a particular purpose.

To make a request, email hello@benedictelauziere.com. I may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on it, and I will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with my response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

12. Children

My services are intended for adults. Anyone under 18 may take part only with the consent of a parent or guardian.

13. Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time, for example when I change the tools I use. The current version is always on this page, and the date at the top shows when it last changed.

14. Contact

For any question about this policy or your information, email hello@benedictelauziere.com.
